Gift Card Mall – #WrappedInStyle

This post was sponsored by Gift Card Mall. The opinions are completely my own based on my experience.

Can someone please tell me how it’s the middle of November already? We’re a little over a month away from Christmas and I’m pretty sure it’s going to fly by. We’re just a few weeks away from our wedding and I have yet to buy a single Christmas present so I have a feeling I’m going to have to improvise a little this year.

I don’t know about you, but I’m not ashamed to say that I LOVE getting gift cards. I feel way less guilty splurging on something “extra” when I have a gift card in my wallet. I know some people feel like it’s the easy way out, but what’s better than getting someone a gift you know they’ll love and use? Plus, I can always pick my favorite gift card from the huge selection of Gift Card Mall cards at my local grocery store or online at www.giftcardmall.com which makes it even easier!

I’m basically obsessed with wrapping presents so I never want to take the easy way out by just sticking a gift card in a card so here’s a cute way to dress up the next gift card you give. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a Christmas gift, but I can’t even imagine how adorable this would be wrapped up under the tree!

Here’s what you’ll need:
Scarf or blanket scarf
Empty box – you may need a few different size options depending on the size of your scarf
Crinkle Cut filler/confetti/glitter – really anything fun to fill the box
Wrapping Paper
Ribbon
Gift tag
Optional: Craft spray adhesive

Step 1: Take an empty box and fill with crinkle cut filler. Add some confetti or glitter for a little extra fun and choose your favorite Gift Card Mall gift card! For a little extra fun, wrap the inside of the box with the same wrapping paper you use on the outside. Just cut the wrapping paper close to size, spray the inside of the box with spray adhesive and adhere the wrapping paper to the tacky surface. Wait a few minutes and cut around the edges.

Step 2: Wrap the outside of the box with wrapping paper. (P.S. how cute is this plaid paper from Target? OMG.)

Step 3: Lay the scarf out on a flat surface and fold the edge in. Repeat on the opposite side.

Step 4: Fold scarf in half with edges folded in.

Step 5: Place the wrapped box with gift card inside in the center of the scarf.

Step 6: Wrap one edge over and fold. Repeat on opposite side. Depending on the size of the scarf, you may need to fold more or less than I did.

Step 7: Breathe. This is what it should look like now but the next step takes a little bit of patience.

Step 8: Fold one edge in (like you would with wrapping paper) and wrap the ribbon tightly around the side to hold in place. Flip your gift over or have someone hold while you repeat on the other side and secure with a strong knot. Feel free to add more ribbon if necessary to hold the edges in.

Step 9: Add a bow! I used the same ribbon to make a loopy bow following a tutorial I found on Pinterest and added a sparkly gift tag!

Now that wasn’t so hard, was it? I’m pretty sure this is the perfect gift for your mom, sister, co-worker, neighbor or anyone who wears scarves and loves coffee! Plus, you could obviously swap out the gift card for any of the endless options from Gift Card Mall.
