Brunch at Carbone’s Prime

Brunch at Carbone’s Prime was complimentary. All opinions are my own.

We’re serious about brunch. So much so that we had a brunch wedding. Carbone’s Prime let me know that they had recently launched a brunch menu and we couldn’t wait to try brunch at Carbone’s Prime! They have brunch every Sunday from 11am-3pm and they even take reservations online through OpenTable! Their menu is filled with a bunch of twists on the brunch classics you know and love.

Drinks

We kicked off brunch at Carbone’s Prime with Tableside mimosas, of course. I picked pineapple juice and Pete picked strawberry juice. They were both delicious on their own and even more delicious together! We went with four cans of Archer Roose Bubbly, and I’m trying to figure out a way to keep them on hand at all times. It was delicious and wine in a can is so convenient during the summer!

If you’re not a mimosa person, they have tons of fun brunch cocktails and a full Bloody Mary Bar. You can pick a brim and Vodka or Tequila before heading to the Bloody Bar for fixings. They had olives, lemons, hot pickled peppers, bacon, cheeses and more!

Food

Our first order of business was the Italian Poutine with homemade mozzarella, shoestring potatoes, smoked bacon, and mushroom marsala gravy topped with poached eggs. This is truly one of the best brunch items I’ve ever eaten. I would go back again just to have more!

Pete got the Franklin Ave pizza with housemade sweet sausage, roasted peppers, onions, provolone, and two farm fresh eggs. I feel like I can’t resist eggs benedict or a crab cake whenever they’re on the menu, so when I saw the Lump Crab Benny, I was sold. A potato pancake topped with lump crab, poached eggs, and hollandaise sauce — delicious!

Even though we were completely stuffed, we couldn’t resist trying the dessert, and another drink because.. brunch 😉 You’ve probably heard of limoncello (one of my faves) but they had a whole bunch of different flavors. We tried the Blood Orangecello and it was delicious! I was torn between that and the Coconutcello so I’ll have to try that next time. We also got the Tiramisu which was incredible.

It was a quick drive to Rocky Hill — we were there in less than 45 minutes. We don’t spend much time in that area of Connecticut, so we made the most of our trip there and visited a few breweries in the area. We had such a great time, and we really can’t wait to go back for brunch at Carbone’s Prime!
