What I Wish I Registered For Before Baby

This post is sponsored by BabbleBoxx.

Like every first time mom, I spent hours googling, looking on Pinterest and asking friends as a built my registry, but now that baby is here, there are a few things I wish I would have added to my registry.

Skincare

I checked the box on all of the bathing essentials — baby bathtub, water thermometer and plenty of washcloths, but I forgot the most important part — baby skincare! My husband and I use CeraVe, so we’re using the same for Briella. CeraVe is dermatologist-developed with three essential ceramides to help restore the skin’s natural protective barrier. The CeraVe Baby Wash & Shampoo is fragrance-free, soap-free and tear-free (and yes, I rubbed my eyes to double check!) and the CeraVe Baby Moisturizing Lotion is perfect for everyday use.

Toys

Besides the standard bouncers and swings, I definitely didn’t register for enough toys. Lamaze Developmental Toys have made playtime so much fun and are the perfect gift for anyone with a new little one. The Lamaze Puffaboo Elephant has crinkly ears, squeaks when you squeeze it and blows a puff of air to encourage sensory learning! The Wacky Giraffe is filled with funny sounds that baby has been loving. Plus, it’s adorable! The Soothing Heart Panda is our favorite. When squeezed, the heart lights up and it sings a melody with vibration synced to it.

Bottles & Pacifiers

Everyone warned me to wait until baby was here to get bottles and pacifiers, but I wish I had been more prepared before we got home. The Philips Avent Anti-colic bottle with AirFree vent is designed to reduce colic, gas and reflux. It has fewer parts for easy cleaning and assembly (who knew I would be spending so much time cleaning bottle parts?!) and the AirFree vent is detachable so you can choose to use this bottle with or without the vent. The Philips Avent Soothie Snuggle is a lightweight plush toy that makes finding her pacifier easy — plus, look how cute it is!

Shoes

We’re big on shoes in this house but somehow didn’t buy baby girl a single pair of shoes before she got here! Stonz has tons of baby & toddler shoes that make playtime easy. Briella is still pretty stationary, but we can’t wait for her to be on the move. The Cruiser Baby Shoe comes in a bunch of colors (these match her nursery perfectly!) and more importantly, they are designed to support early walking with ankle support and a flexible sole. With winter approaching, we were so excited about the Baby Bootie — they’re all-weather wind-resistant with non-slip rubber soles and are wide enough to slip right on her feet, or over socks or shoes and adjust with a toggle!

Postpartum Care

Baby girl was a few weeks early so I was really unprepared in this department. Luckily, my amazing coworkers sent me a care package with everything I needed in the recovery phase and I will definitely be doing this for all the new moms in my life. Oversized PJs, dry shampoo, eye masks and candy made those first few days much more bearable. T.N. Dickinson’s Witch Hazel 100% Natural Astringent and T.N. Dickinson’s Witch Hazel Hemorrhoidal Pads with Aloe would be great additions to any postpartum care package. They’re both formulated with 100% Natural USP Witch Hazel to help cool and soothe inflammation.

Extras

We’re lucky that Briella is a great sleeper but I’m hanging on to the Oilogic Slumber & Sleep Linen Mist for that 4 month sleep regression. This sleep spray has Lavender Oil & Chamomile Oil to help baby sleep more soundly. The Oilogic Stuffy Nose & Cough Vapor Bath is formulated using essential oils that open airways and calm coughs so we’ll be keeping this on hand for when she gets sick.
